Locksmith Technician

This role is for someone who takes pride in quality work, communicates clearly, and wants to be part of a team that values professionalism over pressure.

Field Role Lower Mainland, BC Full-time

What you’ll do

  • Provide residential and commercial locksmith services
  • Diagnose lock, key, and door-related issues on site
  • Explain options clearly so customers can decide confidently
  • Complete work cleanly, safely, and correctly
  • Represent On Point Locksmith professionally

What we’re looking for

  • Someone who cares about doing the job right — not rushing, not cutting corners.
  • Clear, respectful communication with customers, especially when things feel stressful.
  • Problem-solving mindset — you like figuring things out, not just following steps.
  • Comfort working independently, while still being part of a team that has your back.
  • Reliability — showing up prepared, on time, and accountable.

What you’ll actually do (and what we provide)

No fluff. Just the real picture — so you know what you’re signing up for.

Your day-to-day

In the field
  • Diagnose what’s actually going on (not guess).
  • Communicate clearly with customers — calm, confident, respectful.
  • Do clean installs/repairs with attention to detail.
  • Look for the best solution — repair-first when it’s safe.
  • Keep notes/photos so the office + customer are always aligned.

What you get from us

Support + standards
  • Training + coaching (not “good luck out there”).
  • Back office support so you can focus on the work.
  • Clear pricing & systems — no pressure selling.
  • Quality standards you can be proud of (and we’ll back you up).
  • A team that cares about customers and teammates.
One honest note: this role isn’t about “being a locksmith hero.” It’s about being steady, professional, and reliable — especially when customers are stressed.

Real Questions About the Locksmith Technician Role

We’ll keep this simple. If you’re curious about the job, the pay, or what a real day looks like — here are straight answers.

? How much does a locksmith technician make in BC?
It depends on experience, the type of work, and how the company is structured. At On Point, we focus on fair pay, clear expectations, and a path to grow — not “figure it out as you go.”
? Do I need experience to apply?
Not always. If you have experience — amazing. If you don’t, we can still work with that, as long as you’re reliable, coachable, and you care about doing clean work.
? What does a real day look like?
It’s not just keys and locks. It’s people calling on a bad day — lockouts, break-ins, doors that won’t close, hardware failing. You diagnose, communicate clearly, and fix it the right way.
? Is the job physical?
Some days, yes. But the biggest “muscle” is your brain. The best techs are the ones who can think, troubleshoot, and stay calm.
? Is this a long-term career or a short-term job?
This can absolutely be a real career. We’re building a team of people who want stability, growth, and pride in their work — not a quick stop on the way to something else.
? Will I be on my own out there?
In the field you’ll be independent — but you’re not alone. You’ll have training, support, and a real back office behind you.
? What makes On Point different?
We say “no” to a few things: surprise pricing, replacing what can be repaired safely, and cheap hardware we wouldn’t install in our own homes. Sometimes that costs us a sale. Long-term — that’s why people trust us.

Still not sure? That’s totally fine. If you’re curious, apply and talk to us first — then decide. No pressure.
